This was a very quick read and that was super disappointing. I really loved the whole concept of the book and really loved the characters but felt like the plot should have evolved a little slower. Everything just felt very rushed and I felt like I didn’t have time to fully enjoy the overall plot. Also, I understand the point of switching POV but I think because it was such a short book and the POV switched so frequently it was a little disorientating. I felt like I never got to fully know any one character because it was hopping around so much. I would have given this book a full 5 stars if there was just a bit more world building as well as a longer and bigger plot.

However, with that said, I still really liked the book and I’m going to read the next one to see how that one is as well. If you are looking for a quick read involving hot aliens and romance then this one is for you!

C791 (Cyborgs: More Than Machines #1) by Eve Langlais

Machines aren’t supposed to feel, but this cyborg can’t help falling in love.

Evaluating his feelings will have to wait though because the military isn’t done with Joe. But their threats against him pale in comparison before the shocking discovery of project C791, the revelation of which stuns the rebel cyborgs—and ignites a fury for vengeance.

I read this book very quickly. There’s only 161 pages so it’s pretty short but it’s packed full. This book, albeit short, had a great plot line, interesting characters and had some unexpected twists and turns.

Even though I wasn’t in love with this book I did enjoy it. This is one of those books that you can’t necessarily put your finger on why you didn’t love it because there was nothing that stood out that was horrible.

I have soooo many mixed feelings about this book. So let me just start from the beginning shall we.

My Little Obsession With Laurann Dohner’s Books

I have been on a Laurann Dohner binge. I’m not even kidding you guys. I’m sure it’s not healthy to binge this many books by one author in such a short amount of time. I’ve just been reading one book after another so fast that I don’t even have time to write about how amazing they are. I just rush to get my hands on the next book in the series because I already know I’m going to love it.

Honestly disappointed in this book. When it started out I was really excited. I loved the premise that there was a surplus of women on Earth due to a illness that targeted men. I thought that was so unique especially since usually books like these are about alien planets that have more males than females. The character intrigued me at first I thought she was cool and didn’t have any major problems with her. That is until her betrayal. I’m not going to go too much into it since I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who is hoping to read this story but I just can’t get over it. 

Rush (Breathless #1) by Maya Banks

I can’t be the only one that recently saw Fifty Shades Darker and craved a book similar to it. I haven’t read a BDSM book in forever. If you’ve been following my posts you’ll know that I’ve lately been obsessed with aliens and any story that relates to space and other worlds. Even amidst my current obsession, once I saw the new 50 Shades movie I had to pick up a similar book and dive back into this world.

I can always rely on Sherrilyn Kenyon for an amazing book! I just love that woman. Her books are amazing!! If you’ve never read one of her books before…honey what are you doing. (Short Review)

The Arrival (Atlantean’s Quest #1) by Jordan Summers

I love how I told myself that I’m going to take a break from alien books and just read something in the fantasy genre (that doesn’t have to do with aliens or space travel) and yet I ended up with a book that turned out to be about aliens. I SWEAR I didn’t know this was about aliens lol! I saw that it was about Atlantis and just thought this would be a cool little fantasy book but nope, turns out that the Atlanteans are aliens. I mean honestly, my bad, considering that on Goodreads it’s under the Aliens genre.

I’ve seen this series everywhere. Every time I look up a list on sci-fi romance or aliens or anything like that this whole series is on it. Not just one book, but the whole series. I put off reading this series because I didn’t know if I was going to be into cyborgs. Also, I didn’t realize the were also human? I don’t know, I just presumed they were all machines, so my bad!
